WHAT WE DO

ZEGA Ltd has its own infrastructure at at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport within the Freight Village that includes an outstanding cold-storage facility with a capacity to handle up to 1,335 tons of perishable goods at client’s desired temperatures. The facility is operated by highly qualified staff and provides employment for over 50 workers. Within its short time of operation the facility now handles 80% of horticulture and fish exports, using only 50% of its capacity.

We also have ramp handling, warehousing, customs clearing, import and export freight forwarding services at our Ndola offices based at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport. We also have a newly opened office at the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone.

ZEGA Ramp services offer a comprehensive range of ground support equipment to client airlines ranging from; passenger steps, 
conveyor belts, push-back tractors, pallet movers, baggage and container dollies, GPU’s, forklifts, cargo loaders to passenger bus.

ZEGA ltd functions as a customs clearing agent 

The necessary customs bonds were put in place to cover the anticipated additional operations.

 

With the subsequent increase in business, the company acquired fully-fledged IATA registered status as a forwarding agent in 1995, operating to set IATA standards. This required further investment in facilities, equipment staff and staff training.

The company is required at all times to maintain ongoing training to ensure that staff are qualified in the handling of hazardous goods, live animals, perishable and dry cargo.

ZEGA’ Passenger Services team provides check-in, escort and pre-flight editing services and handles over 120,000 passengers per annum at all International Airports in Zambia.

Arriving passengers are guided from the aircraft gate through immigration & baggage-claim formalities until the arrival hall. Transit passengers are guided to the transfer area where our staff provide the necessary services to assist them to their onward connecting flights.
